Welcoming Leah Albright-Byrd: Our new Executive Director of Operations

We are thrilled to welcome Leah Albright-Byrd as the new Executive Director of Operations of the Rebecca Bender Initiative. Leah brings with her a treasure trove of experience and a heart deeply committed to our mission.

Leah's Journey to RBI

"I've watched RBI from afar for years and have always been inspired by its impact and unique mission. My lived experience coupled with a value for economic empowerment and cultural transformation have made this a great fit for me. I see this as a part of my calling," says Leah.

Her words reflect the symbiotic relationship that we envision with her at the helm. Leah is no stranger to the nonprofit sector. She's been an advocate and a thought leader, focusing on invoking legislative change and providing strategic direction. "I've had the chance to invest myself into this work both as a consultant and executive director," Leah shares.

A Vision for Change: The Road Ahead

Leah joins us with a strong vision, particularly in her role as Executive Director of Operations. "I'm bringing a passion for wellbeing, community, and operational strategy! Helping to accelerate our mission while ensuring that RBI continues to be a place where people love to show up and invest their time and talents, is a high priority for me," she states.

In her perspective, one critical factor can make a significant impact in fighting against human trafficking: "A stronger focus on the importance of economic empowerment. It not only restores dignity and reduces vulnerability but it represents a path toward reclaiming lives, dreams, and dignity."

Energized for the Future: What's Next for RBI

"I'm most excited about supporting our team and our founder while helping RBI to broaden its impact and expand its vision," Leah enthusiastically notes.

We couldn't be more grateful and excited to embark on this journey with Leah Albright-Byrd. Her values align seamlessly with our mission, and her vision is a beacon guiding us toward a bright future!
